Truth

Jesus said in John’s Gospel that the truth will set us free. Free from what you may ask... Well Jesus said that anyone who commits sin is a slave to sin and that he has come to set people free. Where is this truth found? In the Bible...

Biblical Teaching

The Bible is the source of truth that we will rely on. In it is found the truth that, when taught passionately and boldly and is applied to daily life, will set us free and will cause and empower us to reach outside of ourselves and our four walls to the world that God loves.

Grace

Grace is defined as God’s unmerited favor and without it the truth becomes nothing more than legalism. The truth can set us free only if it is heard and acted upon and grace is ‘salve’ that opens the ears of our heart to hear and then act upon the truth. It is by grace that God draws humanity into a saving relationship with him through the life, death and resurrection of Christ. It is grace that changes our very nature once we accept what Christ has done for us and it is grace that will cause (help) us fulfill God’s purpose for us in Christ.

Community

God calls us to model his grace to each other and to his world by our words and actions. Grace changes everything and is best modeled in community. Small groups within the larger faith community are channels of grace that God uses to touch and transform the lives of all who are within them. Small Groups are the church!

Reconciliation

It has been God’s desire since that fateful day in Eden so long ago to reconcile humanity to himself. From a garden in Eden to Calvary’s Cross, the reconciliation and restoration of humanity and all of God’s created order is the story of the Bible. Jesus accomplished God’s plan through his life, death and resurrection and all who accept the free gift that God offers can be made right with him...can be reconciled to their Creator! He has called his followers to be agents of his reconciliation, calling and reaching out to a lost and broken world of God’s desire to restore the relationship that he meant for us since before time itself began.

Servanthood

This broken world will not be reconciled to God by his followers out-arguing, out-smarting or out-fighting it. It will be done by out-serving and out-loving it! Legacy will model reconciliation through serving the world in which we live...our neighborhoods, communities and beyond...by meeting needs and healing long-standing wounds. Through our actions we will show the world that the one who created them and loves them indescribably seeks to draw them into a life-changing relationship with him.

Transformation

Spiritual transformation is the message of the gospel...it’s what Christ offers through relationship with him. Spiritual transformation changes our very nature from a self-absorbed, self-seeking individual into someone who seeks the best for those around them regardless of the cost to our own self-interest. It is God’s desire to transform all who know him into the likeness and image of his son Jesus of Nazareth. To be transformed is to become like Christ, to take upon his attributes of grace, love, selflessness and holiness. When we live these attributes out, we become an agent of change that God can and will use to reach our world.

Worship

We are transformed when we surrender who we are and what we do to God so that by his Holy Spirit he may live through us. True worship is an act of surrender to God by offering ourselves and all that we are and all that we have to his service and purpose. Authentic worship transforms Christ-followers and witnesses to seekers of the life-change that is possible through a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
